What Is CryoPen Cryotherapy?

CryoPen is a precision cryotherapy treatment designed to remove suitable benign skin lesions using a controlled jet of extremely cold gas.

The targeted freezing process destroys unwanted tissue while helping to minimise the impact on surrounding healthy skin.

At Beauty Beam in Billingham, we use professional CryoPen technology to treat suitable skin concerns, including skin tags, warts, verrucas and other eligible benign lesions.

Treatment is generally quick, minimally invasive and requires no cutting or stitches. Healing happens naturally over the following weeks.

Every treatment begins with an assessment to ensure the lesion is suitable for cryotherapy.

Why Choose CryoPen

What Skin Lesions Can CryoPen Treat?

At Beauty Beam, CryoPen may be suitable for selected benign skin lesions measuring between 1 mm and 6 mm.

Depending on individual assessment, practitioner training and insurance, these may include:

  • Skin tags

  • Benign Moles (must provide a GP note or dermatologist report)

  • Certain benign keratoses

  • Common warts

  • Verrucas

All lesions must be assessed for suitability before treatment. Beauty Beam does not offer CryoPen removal of suspicious lesions

CryoPen FAQ's

1. Does CryoPen treatment hurt?

Most clients experience a cold, stinging or burning sensation during treatment. Discomfort varies depending on the lesion and treatment location.

2. How many CryoPen treatments will I need?

Some lesions respond to one session, while others require additional treatments. Results depend on lesion type, size and individual response.

3. Will CryoPen leave a scar?

CryoPen is a non-surgical treatment, but scarring and temporary or permanent pigmentation changes are possible.

4. How long does healing take?

The treated area may become red, swollen or develop a blister or scab. Healing commonly takes around 1–3 weeks, although some areas take longer.

5. What skin lesions can you treat?

Beauty Beam offers treatment for selected benign skin lesions measuring up to 6 mm, subject to consultation, appropriate diagnosis and treatment suitability.

6. Can you remove moles with CryoPen?

Beauty Beam can remove moles using CryoPen, but moles or suspicious lesions should be assessed by an appropriate medical professional and a medical report be provided before they can be treated.

7. Can several lesions be treated in one appointment?

Yes. Beauty Beam offers packages for multiple suitable lesions, including 1–3 small lesions for £50.

8. What is Map My Mole?

Map My Mole is a dermatologist-led skin lesion assessment service using dermatoscopic imaging. It helps assess lesions and identify when further medical attention is required. It does not remove lesions.

9. Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Every lesion must be assessed for suitability before treatment. If there is uncertainty about the lesion, medical assessment may be required.

10. Can I return to normal activities afterwards?

Most clients can resume normal daily activities, although you should avoid irritating the treated area and follow your personalised aftercare instructions.
